This post is in English and this is straight lift from my rediff blog, this should be readable for most of you. Unfortunately I do not have time to translate it in hindi.
Recently I was reading an article at rediff about some people in Pak becoming atheist. Unfortunately like many other time with discussion over there, things almost always takes a hindu vs muslim point of view. I can not comment on things which they say about Islam as my own understanding is limited but I would like to write about some of the things questioned over there about hinduism.
Krishna and number of his wives: Each soul has yearning to be with supreme being, Krishna is believed to be highest level incarnation of supreme lord. Therefore people found him too attractive and his another name was Mohana, which literally means Mr. Charming. Several of the women in his era couldn’t take their gaze off the lord, you can imagine if you have god in front of you, you wouldn’t like to be with anybody else. Still he married to 16000 of women abducted by a criminal named Narkasura, if he wouldn’t have married them, society would have rejected them.Where else you find this kind of benevolence for the fallen ones except by lord himself? He didn’t chose his brides, fathers of prospective brides and brides themselves chose him. God’s door is opened to everybody
Shiva chopping of head of his son: Basic thing one needs to understand is worshipers of shiva are basically worshipers of nature. The story has a moral, and comman man understands that moral. But this is not a fairy tale this is story of creation and destruction. Every entity is believed to be alive in front of god and it includes, mountains rivers and rocks. Shiva chopped of head of a boy, who was preventing him from meeting his beloved wife(unknown to him boy was created by his wife himself hence should be considered his son) before you take any other menaing of this story you need to understand that Shiva’s wife was a daughter of mount Himalaya, and therefore she is not a human like me and you, made up of flesh. To understand the basic moral that one shouldn’t act in haste like Shiva, is easy but to understand divine creation and destruction, one need to develop higher level intellect
